The piece for a percussion player, « infinite loop », tries to focus on Shepard scales, used as primary material for musical composition. Shepard scales form the illusion of infinite ascending or descending notes.
But there is also the possibility to use this principle for metric or rhythmic organization of musical time. In the context of this composition two Snare-Drums are used to explore this psychoacoustic phenomenon. Single strokes are permanently accelerated and reaching constant one-handed rolls.
